Description
Harvey Kurtzman Humbug #3 Preliminary Complete 3-Page Story Original Art (Humbug Publications, 1957). The "You Are There Then" three-pager was written by Harvey Kurtzman, and these are his initial prelim rough layouts. This Walter Cronkite parody harkens directly back to Kurtzman's earlier MAD work. Will Elder (another MAD alum) would use these roughs to provide the finished pencil/inks that were published. These roughs were created in pure graphite on Humbug Bristol board with an image area of 6.5" x 9.5" per-page, and 13" x 9.5" for the double-pages 2-3.
