DescriptionGray Morrow The Thing & Madame Medusa Preliminary Poster Study Original Art (Phil Seuling Productions, 1970). So since when is Gray Morrow a Fantastic Four illustrator? Isn't he more of a horror-comics and Edgar Rice Burroughs artist? Well, Morrow stepped outside his usual turf when he rendered Jack Kirby's signature characters for a large-scale poster advertising Seuling's 1970 Comic Art Convention. This splendid piece is the unique conceptual composition, noticeably different from the published version. Felt markers (minimal pencilling) on vellum, taped to illustration board. Signed at lower left. Image area, 9" x 13". Pronounced toning and marginal adhesive staining. Very Good condition.
