DescriptionGill Fox - Crack Comics #16 Cover Printer's Proof (Quality Comics, 1941). The Condor strikes a heroic pose, catching a bomb in mid-air in this terrific cover proof from 1941. Pulled right out of the Golden Age of comics, this full-color printer's proof was originally used by Quality Comics to check their cover colors before the book was run. The image area measures 7.5" x 10.75". These glowing colors really pop off the page. Printer's proofs are scarce, as they weren't often kept after publication. Some slight edge wear, well outside of the image area, otherwise in Excellent condition. From the collection of Gill Fox.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
