Gary Panter Pee-Wee's Playwear Preliminary Artwork Original Art, Lenticulars, and Ephemera Group of 16 (1987). Pee-Wee's Playhouse was such a huge hit, there was an attempt to cross-market the brand into a line of clothing. This group of concept art shows several brand names were considered, our favorite being "Pee-Wee's Playwear". Most of these are designs for the logo and clothing tags. The concept art ranges from sketches on notebook paper, to graphite on onionskin, to inked Bristol board. It even includes some more unusual pieces such as the color guide on onionskin paper, a photocopy to show pantone color choices, and a Polaroid photo. However by far, the most unusual item included in a set of four lenticular images setup on a glass sheet for viewing purposes. These depict Pee-Wee Herman doing his famed "Tequila" dance. This idea was eventually used on the tags for the 1989 JCPenney's produced clothing line. Condition varies with some handling and occasional fold or crease, however overall they are in Excellent condition.
