Frank Frazetta Vampirella #11 Cover Painting Preliminary Original Art (Warren, 1971). The finished painting created from this small prelim study was also used for a poster titled "Woman with Scythe". Frazetta's prelim here is more detailed than many other artists' finished work. Of particular interest is the small notation and sketch at the bottom that reads "perhaps semi skull", and sure enough... on the final painting the woman has a more human face with a skull motif. The small watercolor piece is signed with a Frazetta "F" in the lower right. The 5" x 7.5" matted image area is matted out to 9" x 11.25". It is Plexiglas fronted and set on illustration board and plastic core board. The edges are taped.
