Don Martin MAD Magazine #58 "Cool Casey at Bat" Complete Story Preliminary Artwork Original Art (EC, 1960). Like, there was no joyosity in Endsville...dig? It's a beatnik version of Ernest Lawrence Thayer's original "Casey at Bat" by MAD's resident Sultan of Swat-Down Humor, Don Martin! This lot contains the preliminary rough designs for 14 panels (one per page) that would become a 3-page story when finished. Each panel has a paste-up of the text that would accompany it in the finished piece. Ink on 8.5" x 11" paper. Images on average fill most of the page. Tanning, some paper-clip rust residue, some corner wear. Overall in Excellent condition.Auction Info
