    Carl Barks Return to Plain Awful Preliminary Painting (#P-10B) Original Art (c. 1989). Carl Barks reprises the Duck family's adventure to the mysterious South American location known as Plain Awful, in his beautiful painting Return to Plain Awful. This painting was created as a follow-up to his famous tale, "Lost in the Andes" (originally published in Four Color #223), and was released along with Donald Duck Adventures #12, which included Don Rosa's sequel tale, "Return to Plain Awful." This preliminary sketch (Code #P-10B) was one of several full color developmental oil sketches on masonite created by Barks for this painting. The art has an image area of 14.75" x 11.75" and it is in Excellent condition. Signed and inscribed by Barks at the lower left.
