    Description

Carl Barks - "Golden Fleece" Limited Edition Serigraph, numbered 99/500 (Disney Art Editions). Often referred to as "the good Duck artist," Carl Barks is a comic book industry legend. For many years Carl Barks was the preeminent Disney comic book artist. He is considered the creator of Scrooge McDuck and generally credited with developing the personalities of Huey, Dewey, and Louie. In 1968 Barks began a series of oil paintings that recaptured classic scenes from the characters of Duckburg. This fine art serigraph is the first reproduction authorized by The Walt Disney Company. It recreates a magic moment from the 1956 story "The Golden Fleecing" (Uncle Scrooge #12). This print has an overall size of 30" x 18.5", with an image area of 24" x 12" and is signed and numbered by the artist. The Certificate of Authenticity is also included in this lot.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
