    Carl Barks Captain Kidd the Pirate #31-78 Preliminary Artwork Original Art (1978). From his series of pirate waterfowls, this painting was during a period that Barks was producing non-Disney work under the working title "Famous Figures of History as They Might Have Looked Had Their Genes Gotten Mixed with Waterfowl". The piece was created in graphite with blue and red pencil on 10.5" x 13" vellum. It is signed and dated in the image area, titled in the lower margin, and also noted there with the "Barks Number" of 31-78 (sometimes written as 78-31). In Excellent condition.
