Original Captain Marvel artist Beck, despite disappointment with DC Comics' 1970s revival, maintained fervor for the character. Notably, his semi-retirement highlights include cover re-creations. Offered here is a preliminary sketch for a re-creation of his original 1942 cover featuring Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, and Captain Marvel Jr. Graphite on paper.
