Description

Bob Zoell Vacationers Bon Voyage Preliminary Original Art (c. 1970s). Nobody draws bouncier cartoons than Zoell. Even his conceptual rehearsal-pieces have a buoyant quality as squeaky as a newly inflated balloon. This splendid piece depicts a vacationing couple, leaving their house, mail delivery, and so forth in good hands. Joy fairly radiates from the page, which bears the influence of 1930s-style cartoon animation. Signed twice (lower right). Graphite on vellum. Image area, 11" x 14", framed to 15" x 19". Two folding creases (horizontal-vertical) in page-stock. Light scuffing and two chipped areas in frame (at left). Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
