Description

Bob Zoell - Bonzo Dog Band Logo Preliminary Artwork Original Art (c. late 1960s-early 1970s). Oh, those Bonzos! This whimsical English Rock band, briefly featured in The Beatles 1967 film, Magical Mystery Tour, was best known for their songs "Death Cab For Cutie" and "I'm the Urban Spaceman." Los Angeles artist Bob Zoell, inspired by 1930s-vintage cartoons, worked up this concept art featuring a crazed canine. The art is in graphite on onionskin paper taped to a backing board, with an approximate image area of 6.5" x 6". The piece is signed by the artist in black marker. Very Good condition, with a vertical fold crease. From the Eric Sack Collection.
