Bernie Wrightson - Joker Illustration Preliminary Original Art (undated). Peekaboo... the Joker sees you! The Clown Prince of Crime appears here through the eyes of the Master of the Macabre, in a truly terrifying take of Batman's arch-nemesis. Created as the preliminary for an equally large finished ink illustration, the sketch offers a tantalizing glimpse of what might have been. Wrightson only gave the Joker a brief dream cameo in Batman: The Cult #1, but this sketch is more than enough to make you wish he had been let loose on a full Batman-versus-Joker tale. Rendered in graphite on Bristol board with an approximate image area of 14.75" x 19.5", matted to 24.5" x 27". Signed in the lower right.
