Description
Barry Smith Aspect #2 "Tales of Hyperborea" Preliminary Original Art (c. early 1970s). A very early (unfinished) pencil-study sequence, involving an armored hero-and-heroine duo under attack by a mammoth elephant. The facial contours indicate that this page was begun just before the time of Smith's breakout on Marvel Comics' version of Conan the Barbarian. Graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10" x 15".
