Art Spiegelman Sleazy Scandals of the Silver Screen Original Preliminary Artwork Group of 25 (Cartoonists Co-Op Press, 1974). Spiegelman uses one of his aliases (Skeeter Grant) on these astonishingly detailed raw-material sketches for an eight-page story, which was published as "Fatty's Fatal Fling" in the one-shot Sleazy Scandals. The title refers to Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, a 1920s-era movie comedian -- whose career collapsed under the weight of a homicidal episode during an orgy. The story appeared in print under yet another pseudonym, Al Flooglebuckle. As usual, Spiegelman puts more into a job than he can hope to get out of it -- a vivid document of how a comic-book story comes together. Ink, graphite, and color pencils on tracing stock. Image areas range from cameo-like miniatures to approximately 8" x 10". Moderate age-toning, with random crimping and tearing. Very Good condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
