Mike Sekowsky and Bernard Sachs Justice League of America #29 Splash Page 1 Crime Syndicate of America Original Art (DC, 1964). DC Editor Julius Schwartz originally gifted this page (along with a couple of others) to fanzine power-couple Don and Maggie Thompson (later, editors of Comics Buyer's Guide) when they visited the DC Offices one day. These pages have stayed in their possession and are only now being offered on the market!
Whereas it is apparent how important the previous DC stories of "The Flash of Two Worlds" and the first JLA/JSA team-up (JLA #21-22) were, we contend that it was the second JLA/JSA team-up that both put the "Multi-" in Multi-verse, but also make the team-ups an annual event. And what better way to kick off a titanic tale like this than with a splash page that features full-figures of each team-member in the issue on a single page! The Gardner Fox story "Crisis On Earth-Three!" opened with this page featuring the JLA (Flash, Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Green Lantern), the JSA (Hawkman, Black Canary, Doctor Fate, Dr. Midnite, Starman); and the CSA (Superwoman, Owlman, Ultraman, Johnny Quick, Power Ring). A total of 15 super beings from three different Earths!
The twice-up scale beauty was rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18". The JLA logo is a stat paste-up with some white paint around it to blend it in. There is a bit of stripped-in text correction in the last caption box. The editorial marker notations in the lower right have gotten wet and smeared. The lower right corner has a fold crease. Light toning and in Excellent condition.
