Michael H. Price Michael H. Price's Hollywood Horrors Original Art Group of 5 (Cremo Studios/Shel-Tone Publ., 1992). The movies' original Dracula -- Max Schreck, from 1922's Nosferatu -- toplines this splendid array of stipple portraits from Price, author of the bestselling Forgotten Horrors books. Schreck is joined by the versatile J. Carrol Naish, as seen in the 1940s chillers The Monster Maker and Dr. Renault's Secret; Basil Rathbone, from 1939's Tower of London; career villain Claude Rains, star of 1933's The Invisible Man; and Stanley Ridges, the split-personality menace from 1940's Black Friday (pictured with co-star Boris Karloff). The large-scale compositions were designed for reproduction in miniature (sepiatone) as part of a collector-card portfolio. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on RegCo-brand Bristol board. Image areas, 9" x 13.75". Excellent condition, with light toning. From the Michael H. Price/Cremo Studios Archives.
