Michael Golden El Paso Comic Con '82 Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus Program Cover Original Art (1982). Michael Golden created some of the most memorable and coveted comics art from the early eighties, and this Spider-Man illustration must rank among most iconic from the entire decade. Golden's superb work was showcased in such titles as Micronauts, The 'Nam, Star Wars, and Dr. Strange, as well as on nearly every major character in comics -- and here is his take on a timeless fan-favorite theme -- a classic web-and-tentacle battle scene between Spidey and Doc Ock, fought at spider-speed! This spectacular showpiece has an image area of 5" x 7.5", and aside from some slightly yellowed Zipatone, the art is in Excellent condition. This amazingly detailed illustration was signed by Golden at the lower right. This piece is enhanced by its great provenance -- also included with this lot are a copy of the program book that featured the art on its cover, and an Accent magazine published by the El Paso Herald-Post with a large feature about the convention as well as another reproduction of this masterwork.More information about Golden, Michael (Use Other Entry) Artist.
