    Description

MGM Studios - Tom and Jerry Background Layout Drawing Original Art (MGM, 1948). In the 1948 MGM short, "The Truce Hurts," Tom, Jerry, and bulldog Butch, all sign a truce and decide to live peacefully. Things go fine for a while, but selfishness eventually rears its ugly head. The end of the film finds them back in the exact same position that they were in at the very beginning, bopping each other on the head with various objects. A magnificent, maleficent tour-de-farce by the craftsmen at MGM. This layout drawing in pencil, shows Butch in a precarious position, standing below a shelf of bricks. The image area measures 9" x 12," and is drawn on a sheet of 10.5" x 12.5" animation paper. This finely drawn pencil drawing is in Excellent condition.
