Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin Doctor Strange #48 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1981). An innovative cover from a brilliant era for Marvel's Master of the Mystic Arts! Marshall Rogers and Terry Austin were on top of their game, and the use of color-holds for visible magic made the pages come alive and look almost 3-D. The main image of Doctor Strange and Clea was rendered in ink and Zipatone over graphite on bright white Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The logo, corner box, and header dressing are all stat paste-ups, as is the lower caption. There were two additional pieces that are stat on acetate, used to create the negative acetate overlays, to produce the pink and blue color holds. Signed by Marvel's then Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter in the lower margin sign-off box. In Excellent condition.
