Lyman Young and Alex Raymond Tim Tyler's Luck Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 7-7-33 (King Features Syndicate, 1933). A visual stunner from the classic "White Dictator of Africa" arc, which involved Raymond as an unbilled collaborator with Young during April-October of 1933. Raymond was mere months away from launching the matched set of Flash Gordon and Jungle Jim at King Features. The troubled leading lady (pictured in all four panels) seems a prototype for Flash Gordon's Dale Arden, and the evil ruler at right suggests a warm-up for Flash's Emperor Ming. Young inscribed this one to a teenage fan-cartoonist, Jack Kent, who would grow up to create a classic humor-fantasy strip, King Aroo. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 24.75" x 5.205". Excellent condition, barring marginal handling wear and an isolated spot-stain at right. From the Jack Kent Collection.
