Kevin Eastman Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pin-Up Original Art (Mirage Studios, 1983). Cowabunga! This is one of the earliest known pieces of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles artwork. Dated 1983, before issue #1 was released in 1984. TMNT went on to become a power-house title in independent publishing and ushered in the era where it seemed all you needed was three adjectives and a varmint to have a hit book. But this is the one that the others wished they could be. The fact that the Turtles are the only ones left from that era (still around in cartoons, movies, and comics) proves their quality and originality. Great looking pinup is ink and graphite with an image area of 12" x 9.5" on thick illustration paper. Bright white paper and in Excellent condition. But Hold on to your Shell, Dude! There is more... This lot also includes the hardback Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Artobiography. It reprints this pinup on Page 7, calling it a "pre-issue one group shot." And the book is even inscribed, signed, and has a "turtle head" sketch by Kevin Eastman on the inside fly page. Own a piece of history. Turtle Power!
