DescriptionJohnny Craig Vault of Horror #40 Splash Page 1 Original Art (EC, 1954). If you want a page with horror host Drusilla, your choices are very few. She only appeared on four splash pages (one each in issues #37-40), and this is the one with the tightest close-up, i.e. the largest Drusilla figure. And we get a great shot of her fellow GhouLunatic, the Vault-Keeper, too. Craig created Drusilla shortly after taking over as the editor of this series. As with her other appearances, the mysterious Drusilla does not speak here. EC superfan Roger Hill aptly described the character as "a young, vivacious lady who never spoke a word or smiled. Her heavy lipstick, blank stare and ruby medallion necklace gave her the appearance of a Vampira type, waiting patiently to put the bite on someone. She was gorgeous." Alas she was never seen again after this issue, as the series ended along with the rest of EC's "New Trend" line. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 18.25". Minor handling wear. There's a small piece out of one corner of the margin. Very Good condition.
