    Description

John Severin Fargo Kid Unspecified Issue Story Page 5 Original Art (Prize Publ., 1958). Severin and fellow EC Comics survivor Al Williamson found themselves holding forth at the experimental Prize studios in 1958, often collaborating on a short-lived Fargo Kid Western series. This ambush sequence is incompletely documented as to issue, and a handwritten title, "Justice," matches no published title in the three-issue run. Severin's predominant angular style, with minimal mechanical shading Panel 7), suggests a solo job, here; the great illustrator occasionally worked on Fargo Kid under an alias: "DePoer." Unusual use of 1.5-up page dimensions, at a time when the industry-at-large was still working at twice-up measurements. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with Zipatone shading. Two patches of Zip film are attached to the reverse. Image area, 10" x 15". Moderate toning, with white-paint retouching. Very Good condition.
