    Description

John Severin and Harvey Kurtzman Mad #3 Complete 7-Page Story "Sheik of Araby" Original Art (EC, 1953). Harvey Kurtzman and John Severin lampoon their own brand of action-adventure in Two-Fisted Tales, as well as the legendary Foreign Legion films Beau Geste and Gunga Din. "The Sheik of Araby" was a popular song that was written in 1921, and it was composed in response to the popularity of the Rudolph Valentino film The Sheik. Note the "infinity" title page and the in-joke reference to Kurtzman's friend, Rene Goscinny, the co-creator of Asterix, on page 3. These uproarious pages were drawn on Craftint paper and each one has an image area of 13" x 18". The Duotone pattern is still vivid on these pages, and they average Very Good condition.
