    Description

John Romita Sr. and Mike Esposito Amazing Spider-Man #39 Page 17 Green Goblin Original Art (Marvel, 1966). John Romita Sr. had previously drawn Marvel's wall-crawling hero in a two-part Daredevil story (#16-17). Stan Lee had assigned that story to him in preparation for Romita to take over the Spider-Man title if Steve Ditko decided to leave -- which Ditko did just two months later! This page is from Romita Sr.'s first issue on Amazing Spider-Man and it was an important one. As this page indicates, the Green Goblin knows Spider-Man is really Peter Parker, but by issue's end, Peter finds out that the Goblin is none other than Norman Osborn, father of Pete's best friend Harry Osborn! Produced in the merry Marvel manner, in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board, with a 12.5" x 18.5" image area. With only slight tanning, it is a stunner in Excellent condition.
