John Buscema and Jim Mooney - Original Art - Splash Page for Thor #188 (Marvel, 1971). Odin has fallen under the spell of the dread unknown Infinity, and the court of Asgard watches him dole out destruction on the giant Cosmi-Screen. This spectacular title splash page from Thor #188 shows most of the Asgard regulars along with a magnificent portrait of Odin under an evil spell. This is exactly the kind of thing that gets a man like John Buscema a nickname like "legend." If you want a powerhouse Bronze Age splash (and a very early one at that), you're going to have to cross the Rainbow Bridge to find a better one than this. 10.5" x 16", with light use of white-out, some light staining at the left edge (common to most Marvel art of this period), and blue-line pencil evident throughout.More information about John Buscema, also known as Buscema, John, John Buscema.
