    Description

Joe Kubert Black Cat #1 Story Page 6 Original Art (Harvey, 1946). By 1946 Joe Kubert was already an established comic book artist, with work under his belt at six or seven different companies. Already known for his work on Hawkman at DC, here he shows he is as adept at drawing cats as birds! The lovely Black Cat appears in many of the panels from this next-to-the-last-page of the lead story "Who's Who". It's from the first issue of her own title, and she was already dealing with someone impersonating her. It's a case of mistaken secret identities as the bad guy spy Hans thinks she is his co-conspirator Frieda. The page was rendered twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18". Toned and in Very Good condition.
