Jimmy Murphy It's Papa Who Pays! and Toots and Casper fragment Sunday Comic Strip Original Art (King Features Syndicate, 1930). Murphy's backup feature, It's Papa Who Pays!, dominates this fragmentary excerpt, which also contains the upper tier of an episode of Toots and Casper, Murphy's primary title. Cheapskate Papa gets a $50 dental bill as payback for his penuriousness -- back in the day when $50 was a serious hunk of change. In the partial Toots, Mr. Casper receives a reward for a lifesaving job. Documented at 1930; month and day-date unspecified. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, approximately 16" x 10", matted as if for framing. Moderate age-toning. Very Good condition.
