Jim Starlin DC Comics Presents #28 Superman-Supergirl-Mongul Cover Original Art (DC Comics, 1980). Len Wein had originated the villain Mongul as a physical match for Superman. Wein and Starlin had launched the character against Superman and the Martian Manhunter in DC Comics Presents #27, and this prompt sequel added Supergirl to the mayhem. Although Mongul is best known for his flamboyant appearance in the Alan Moore-scripted Superman Annual #11 (1985), it is in this epic from five years earlier that the menacing character emerges as an essential DC-style bad guy. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with painted starbursts. The image area is 10" x 15". Excellent condition.
