    Description

Jim Osborne Sleazy Scandals of the Silver Screen #1 Complete 7-Page Story Original Art (Cartoonists Co-Op Press, 1974). Kenneth Anger's gossip-laden book, Hollywood Babylon, inspired Osborne's "Hollywood Tragedy: The Suicide of Lupe Velez" -- an elaborately illustrated exaggeration of the star's demise. Though dubious in terms of accuracy, the account offers a wealth of meticulous pen-and-ink artistry from one of the most accomplished of the Underground Comix' founding talents. (Osborne signs himself with a pen-name, Lawrence LaFey.) Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 11" x 15". Faint toning. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
