    Description

Jim Lee and Scott Williams The Official Festival Guide to "New York Is Book Country 2003" Cover Original Art (DC Comics/New York Times, 2003). Every year New York hosts a major book fair event. On Wednesday the 17th, 2003, the New York Times ran a supplement outlining events and guests of that year's show. The cover featured the World's Finest team of Batman and Superman as Jim Lee was a guest at the show and would be signing posters of this artwork at one of the stages. The original art for that cover/poster is signed by Jim Lee on the bottom left margin. It's one of the finest illustrations of this team up we have seen to date. Ink over graphite on DC Bristol board with an image area of 14" x 10". In Excellent condition. From the Personal Collection of Jim Lee.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
