    Description

Jim Davis Garfield Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 3-25-90 (United Feature Syndicate, 1990). Odie goes to great lengths (and impositions) to locate his lost bone. The Ben Franklin original art title stat is simply electrifying! This charming Sunday was done in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 18.75" x 12.5". In Excellent condition, with smudging and migration of the blue pencil, as is typical with Garfield strips from this period. There is production material tapes to the left and right edges. From the Jim Davis Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
