    Description

Jim Davis Garfield Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 2-5-86 (United Feature Syndicate, 1986). Fat cat Garfield confronts his mortality in this gem of Existential cynicism from the feature's first decade. Davis strategically drops the cartoon exaggerations at last (far right) for a touch of skeletal semi-realism. Brilliant. Ink and Zipatone shading over blue pencil on Bristol board. Image area, 14" x 4". Aside from light yellowing in the Zip adhesive, the piece is in Excellent condition. From the Jim Davis Collection.
