Description
Jean Giraud Blueberry L'Aigle Solitaire Tome 3 Planche 16 (Dargaud, 1967). Jean Giraud Blueberry L'Aigle Solitaire #3 Original Art Story Page 16 (Dargaud, 1967). L'Aigle Solitaire is the third album in the Blueberry series by Jean-Michel Charlier (story) and Jean Giraud (art). First published in Pilot #268, before being published in graphic novel form, in 1967. Lieutenant Blueberry is responsible for a squad of about thirty men, transporting a convoy of ammunition through a Apache infested territory. Blueberry himself is present in almost all panels! Note his profile, which reminds us of actor Jean-Paul Belmondo, whom Giraud had used as a model. The varying ink line gives the impression of depth on this clean page. Check out panels 1, 6, and 7, with deep black ink in front, with a lighter application on the bottom. This is Giraud at his best. Ink on Bristol board with an image area of 12" x 15". Originally drawn in two parts that have been conjoined. In Excellent condition.
