    Description

Jack Kirby, Frank Giacoia, and John Verpoorten Captain America Annual #3 Double Splash Page 2-3 Original Art (Marvel, 1976). This one big panel fills a complete two-page spread from the Jack Kirby-written tale "The Thing From the Black Hole Star!" The story gave Kirby opportunity to draw a cool Kirby gun, some high-tech backgrounds, a classic character he co-created in 1940 (Captain America), and an impressive Kirby monster! The splash was created in ink over graphite on two sheets of Bristol board with a combined image area of 21.25" x 15". Personalized "To Mark, in friendship - Jack" in the lower image area. The boards have been affixed to a 27.5" x 21" illustration board for a previous frame job. The art boards are very toned, with some minor stains and glue residue in the image area. In Very Good condition.
