Description
Jack Kirby and Vince Colletta Thor #157 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1968). A true Marvel Silver Age treasure, as royally produced by Jack "The King" Kirby and Vince "The Prince" Colletta, and signed by the man himself, Stan Lee! Thor is stuck in Mangog's crushing grasp in this dramatic cover titled "Behind Him---Ragnarok!" with Colletta's bold, thick lines that match Kirby's power-packed pencils! Produced in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The logo and corner box were printed on Bristol board, then pasted on to this page, and the original art was continued up into it. The title caption in the lower area is paste-up as well. All are original paste-ups except the issue number, which is a more recent replacement. There was a very minor amount of light stain removal and lighting around the bottom of the corner box. The cover is top and bottom two-hole production punched, and has a bit of handling wear and production oil in the margins.
