    Description

Jack Kirby and Sol Brodsky Fantastic Four #3 Story Page 7 Original Art (Marvel, 1962). The first appearance of the Fantastic Four costumes, the first superhero costumes in the Silver Age of Marvel Comics! The Invisible Girl suits up Mr. Fantastic and the Thing in their new duds (Ben discards the helmet pretty quickly, however). This is the point where the team started to actually look like superheroes.
They may have almost looked even more like superheroes... One of our eagle-eye executives noticed the whiteout around Sue and Reed's eyes seemed to be covering up masks. Yep, it appears that Stan and Jack may have toyed with the idea of giving the FF costumes domino masks! Check the image closely and you can see it in panels 2-4. A historic find!
We are also treated to some lovely poses of Sue Storm in Panel 1 and 2, and we are even get a great Kirby Kaiju in that last panel! Strong stuff from the heady early days of the Marvel Universe. Created twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". There are whiteout art corrections, and minor stains in panels four and six. The toned page is in Very Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: Added info re: possibility that the FF costumes were designed with masks, but the idea was discarded.
