Jack Kirby and Mike Royer Kamandi, the Last Boy on Earth #4 Splash Page 5 Original Art (DC Comics, 1973). Kirby had revolutionized DC mythology with his Fourth World epic and related titles, but his long-running futuristic serial, Kamandi (and to a lesser degree OMAC), created a lasting vision of DC's far-flung future. Kirby produced more original material for Kamandi than for any of his other DC titles of the period, 40 issues containing Kirby stories. The inks are by Mike Royer, who famously partnered with Kirby during his DC stint in the early 1970s. This is one of Kirby's most recognizable images of that time, having been used as the cover for The Jack Kirby Omnibus Kamandi hardcover book.
Unlike a cover that has a stat for the title, the logo here and entire page are pure Kirby. Created in ink over graphite with blue pencil on Bristol board, with an image area of 10" x 15". There are whiteout marks, and tape residue on the edges. The page is signed by Mike Royer in the upper right. See our online photos of Royer holding and signing the page at the San Diego Comic Con in 2012. In Excellent condition.
