    Description

Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott Fantastic Four #59 Story Page 9 Black Bolt Original Art (Marvel, 1967). As co-creator and visual architect of the entire Marvel universe, Jack Kirby's mythical run on his masterpiece The Fantastic Four is universally seen as an unparalleled peak in this history of comic art. And an absolute highlight of the era are the FF stories inked by his greatest embellisher, Joe Sinnott, particularly from the Galactus/Silver Surfer, Inhumans, Black Panther, and Doctor Doom storylines in issues #48-59. This was Kirby at his true pinnacle, as immediately evident by this mind-blowing half-splash. Here, high above the city of Attilan, the home of the uncanny Inhumans, flies the proud and stoic Black Bolt! Under Kirby and Lee, the Fantastic Four series seemed to be turning out an almost unending stream of major characters. Although all were co-created with Stan Lee, there is little doubt that the Inhumans were some of the most Kirby-fied creations by the team at that time. This stunner of a page was crafted twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". There is some whiteout art and text correction on the lightly toned page. In Very Good condition.
