Jack Kirby and Don Heck Tales to Astonish #49 Page 2 Original Art (Marvel, 1963). The very first transformation between Ant-Man and Giant-Man was this page right here! While he's changing back to Ant-Man on the page, note that the story opened with the character already grown, and his change into Giant-Man was not shown. Hank Pym took too much of his enlarging fluid and grew larger than a house; luckily the Wasp is there with a reducing pellet. Pym realizes that he can't allow himself to grow larger than 12 feet or he won't be able to support his own weight. This also has the first mention of his redesigned uniform. There's also some great boyfriend-girlfriend banter between Janet Van Dyne and Henry Pym. This piece is "twice-up," with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". It's in ink over graphite on Bristol board. Please note that there are six tears around the edge of the art, the largest being a 1.5" tear at the left of panel one and a 3.5" tear at upper left (that entire corner was torn off and taped back on). Two of the other tears were also sealed with tape on the back. Paper toning, and some minor staining. Good condition.
