Jack Katz Falling in Love #109 Complete 8-Page Story "I'll Never Forget That Day!" Original Art (DC Comics, 1969). Katz is among the most progressive of the first-generation comic-book talents. Though tenured on account of his 1940s work, Katz had dropped out to become a teacher during the mid-'50s -- returning around 1969, in time to catch the first wave of DC's modernization of its romance-comics line. This splendid example boasts a splash page worthy of a Neal Adams and a relentless visual pace en route to an emphatic punchline/climax. Soon thereafter, Katz would begin his epic First Kingdom graphic novel, a 750-plus-page wonder that required 16 years to complete. Ink and mixed media over graphite on Bristol board. Final page contains part-art and part-paste-up advertising (loosened and faded stats). Image area, 10" x 15". Average Very Good condition.
