Jack "Jaxon" Jackson Oat Willie #1 Splash Page Original Art (Austintatious, Inc., 1987). "Who th' heck is Oat Willie?" -- everybody wants to know, so Underground Comix pioneer Jaxon gets set to reveal the truth. Classic Texas-underground material from an inventor of the idiom. Jaxon also provides cameos from Gilbert Shelton's Fabulous Furry Freak Bros. (Freewheelin' Franklin and Fat Freddy's Cat), in addition to a generous array of rednecks, hippies, punks, squares, and ordinary folks. (Oat Willie, derived from an early Shelton cartoon, is the symbol of the Austin, Texas, hipster scene.) Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 8" x 11.5". Faint toning. Excellent condition.
