    Description

Irv Novick Zip Comics #31 Story Page 8 Steel Sterling Original Art (MLJ/Archie Comics, 1942). "The Creeper" has secretly refilled the fire extinguishers with gasoline, making it much harder for Steel Sterling to save the day! This page is crafted twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.25". There is slight water damage on the right side, and a stain in Panel 1. The boarders have been taped off with masking tape. Overall the page is in Very Good condition, and signed by Irv Novick in the bottom left panel. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
