Description

Washington State Ronald McDonald and Friends Mural Design Drawing by Wes Cook Original Art (McDonald's/Setmakers, 1981). It's just another lazy day in the whimsical world of McDonaldland. Ronald McDonald sits nestled in the branches of an Apple Pie Tree, reading a book and passively trying to catch a Filet-O-Fish. Grimace bathes in a pond, Hamburglar drops in from above, and Officer Big Mac keeps one of the many fry-stealing Gobblins in check. This incredible rendering is a custom mural design by the hand of legendary theme park designer and Setmakers' Creative Director, Wes Cook. This remarkably detailed, custom-designed graphite drawing was commissioned through Setmakers for a McDonald's restaurant in Redmond, Washington. It measures approximately 9" x 21" on 15" x 24" vellum. Measurements along the border indicate that the finished mural was to fill a space of 3' 11" x 9' 11". Beneath the image and amongst other handwritten details is the date February 8, 1981 and the artist's signature. Applied to the lower left of the pages is the Setmakers' logo and non-disclosure information. The paper shows minor handling wear, a crease in the lower left and tanning; otherwise, condition is Fine.
