Vaughn Shoemaker - Editorial Cartoon Illustration Original Art (Chicago's American, 1963). Vaughn Shoemaker twice won the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning (in 1938, and in 1947), and he created the character John Q. Public. This piece published in 1963 is as relevant today as it was then. Crafted in ink and Conte crayon on coquille board with an image area of 12" x 15". The text is a hand-lettered paste-up. It is autographed and personalized in the image area. There is a slight bit of paste-up glue residue near the top edge. In Excellent condition.
