Vaughn Bode - "Freckles" Illustration Original Art (Frank E. Richards, 1967). Watch the birdie! Underground Comix superstar Vaughn Bode presents us with a very pleasant outdoor scene, in his unmistakable style. This rare early example of Bode's work comes from an interesting project: an illustrated book for children with mental and learning disabilities. The use of "felt dye" (marker) rendering was unique at the time, and the so-called "acid" colors got the book banned for some time. Ink and colored marker on board, measuring approximately 7.5" x 11.25", in Excellent condition. Framed and matted.Auction Info
