Description

Tim Boxell - Program Book Illustration Original Art (Minneapolis Minicon 8, 1974). Underground Comix pioneer Boxell reinterprets Rudyard Kipling's famous observation that "a good cigar is a smoke." The convention for which this was drawn was a science-fiction event, but the artist hedged with a "Venusian" reference. Note the Richard M. Nixon caricature on the bowl of the pipe. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 10.5" x 9". Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
