Description

Steve Fastner and Rich Larson The Destroyer Original Art (c. 2000s). Not for nothing do they call him the Destroyer: The seminal Marvel Comics hero dates from 1941, when Mystic Comics #6 depicted him invading a Nazi concentration camp. In Fastner and Larson's modern-day fantasia, the Destroyer appears to have won World War II single-handedly -- having decapitated Hitler, subdued Hideki Tojo and Benito Mussolini, and hogtied a voluptuous female Nazi. (Eva Braun would have been too ugly to meet the pictorial requirements.) Golden Age revisionism at its most intense. Graphite, ink, and watercolors on heavyweight Bristol board with an edge to edge image area of 8.5" x 11". Art page is coming loose from the board. Signed and in Excellent condition.
