Simon Bisley Simon Bisley's Illustrations From the Bible: A Work In Progress "He Is Risen" Preliminary Illustration Original Art (Heavy Metal, 2004). A showstopping glimpse into a mythic moment, this concept illustration erupts as Jesus dramatically rises from the tomb while frightened Roman soldiers scatter. Bisley created it during a late-1990s commission that challenged him to apply his fantasy drafting talents to religious-themed images. This inspired an evolving cycle of Christ-centric images, and a large selection of them was compiled and published by Kevin Eastman's Heavy Metal a few years later. Drafted in ink and graphite on paper with an image area of 16" x 11.5"; matted and glass-front framed to 24.25" x 19.5". In Excellent condition.More information about Simon Bisley.
